At 2 1/2 months

Well, it's been busy so far... so many new things to learn. I recently discovered my thumb. It's tricky, I need to use both hands in order to steer it to my mouth. Also... I have a tongue! It's so cool, I like to stick it out at dad when he's changing me. We just got a kid carrier so we can go on hikes as a family, I can't wait until I'm big enough to really use it.... but here's a picture of me trying it out. Although my head is easy to balance, it's hard to keep up for too long, and lifting it myself is really hard still.

Speaking of kid carriers, Dad recently let me look out when riding in the Bjorn (usually I have to face him) and I love it! There is so much more to see!

Dance Party!

Owen seemed to be dancing in his new crib so I thought I'd try and make a video of it. I managed to link a few video clips together, but needed a sound track worthy of Owen's moves. A quick search on the internet for free mp3s (legal ones) and I found a piece of dance music by a band called "Super Jupiter" called "Got to get some". Don't bother watching the whole four minutes of video, it's just the same four clips repeated over and over again. As for the music, well that's also a bit repetative. I'll try a bit harder on the next one.

Owen's First Day Jan 6th, 2006

As you can see we're a couple months behind here so the first few posts will be to catch you up on what's happened with Owen to date.

This is among the first (non-naked) photo of Owen ever taken. He's about an hour old at this point and the nurses just got through measuring and weighing him. Amy looks to be in that post-labor euphoria that lasted only another hour.

For those who care, Owen weighed 8 lbs 0 oz and was 22 inches long. This last measurement is probably spurious in that Owen's cone shaped head at birth probably added an extra inch to his lenght.
