A visit from my Grandparents Steves

My Grandma and Grandpa Steves came to visit this past week, and we had a blast! It was so nice to see them, and to spend so much time together. Dad and Grandpa went on a fishing trip and saw lots of whales, while Mom was at work I got to hang out all day with Grandma! I think I kept her busy enough. They got me a jumper and helped install it in our kitchen. Now I can do my best kangaroo impression. Actually, it is a lot of fun to be eye level with Scooter and to be able to spin around and keep track of everyone in the kitchen. We also all visited the lab a few times to hang out as Mom counted crabs.

I've also started blowing raspberries and keeping up lots of sustained laughter... just for Dad though...he's the craziest. Everyone else, including Mom usually just gets a good smile and maybe a giggle.

Mmmm, Nectarine!

Well, he grabbed for my nectarine and really seemed to want to taste it, so I let him. And though it seemed like he found it distasteful, for some reason he kept grabbing for more.

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

I can finally reach my toes! Moreover, they fit into my mouth... yum, possibly the best thing I have ever tried.

I saw a lot of other babies this week. On Wednesday I hung out with Caden and his mom Cascade. We had a nice dinner and I tried to get Caden to get up and run around with me but he was relaxing most of the time, so we just held hands a little bit. I also got to visit for a bit with Melissa and the Miner twins, Gabe and Gavin. They are getting so big! It was great to see them again.

Friday I met my friend Randall's family who were out for her graduation. They were all so fun and friendly. Coach Hughes was particularly great because he was the only one who could get me to nap all evening.

For Father's Day today, we took Dad out to breakfast at Howards. Afterwards, we headed up to Fort Ross to do a little hike. While we were there we got to see a demonstration of a cannon firing (minus the cannon ball). It was really a nice, though slightly windy day.

The inagural ride of my kid carrier was lots of fun, it worked perfectly and I got a birds eye view of everything! Dinner was pulled pork sandwiches for Mom and Dad and rice cereal for me (well a little bit, I am not so interested in cereal tonight).

Owen Sits by Himself (sort of)

With a litte assistance to get him started, Owen has started sitting up by himself for up to 30 seconds. Here's a little video of some of his first successful attempts ever.

I'm 5 months old today!

To prove that I"m growing up (way too fast), I was a good kiddo in Daycare today. It was only my third (half) day but Lisa said I napped for about an hour and enjoyed watching the kids play outside. I only got fussy the last five minutes or so before Mom came to pick me up.

This week in Owen news, other than starting daycare and that my odyssey into the world of rice cereal and pureed foods contiunes with each day a little more successful than the last, we celebrated Randall turning her dissertation in... Congratulations Randall! On Friday there was a great artshow/sale at Gourmet au Bay featuring prints done by kids at Pastures Preschool. We hung out for a while and listened to the band and bought some art. However it was in part a ploy to keep Randall busy while we got ready for a surprise party for her downstairs in her and David's apartment. We had a great time, and the grown-ups enjoyed lots of good food including this season's first salmon courtesy of Joe. Everyone particularly enjoyed a cheerleading video from Randall's HS years.
