Happy Anniversary to my Great Grandparents!

When traveling, I have to improvise sometimes 'cause my folks didn't want to cary around my bath tub!

I have had quite the exciting weekend. To start with... on Friday, I got my first tooth in and it looks like the second is already on its way! Very exciting, it makes me suck in my bottom lip and play with it all the time. As soon as I'm ready to let Mom take a picture of my tooth, I'll post it. Even more exciting was a visit to Michigan for my Great-grandpa Em and Great-grandma Jean's 60th anniversary! Can you believe it... 60 years!

We started our vacation on Friday (very early in the morning). Met up with Grandpa Tom and Grandma Terri in Arizona and flew the rest of the way to Michigan. It was so nice to have them on our flight. Made traveling much easier. After we landed in Michigan, we met up with Uncle Ryan and found our way to my Great-grandparents' house. What a treat to be able to meet them as well as my Great-Auntie Ann, first-cousins (once removed) Jay, Katie and Sam, Great-great Aunt Harriet and first-cousin (twice removed)Margo! You would think I would be overwhelmed with all of the love and play time I got with everyone but truth is that I loved every second of it!

Saturday was Great-Grandma Jean and Great-Grandpa Em's Anniversary party with family and close friends in attendance. It was very special to meet all of the people who have been so important to my Great-grandparents. Of course it was most special meeting my Great-grandparents themselves. I am such a lucky baby to be loved by so many generations of my family and to have the chance to play with them all!

Headed home on Sunday after breakfast with everyone in Michigan. Again, did really well on the plane and impressed everyone around me! On the last leg of the trip, a woman behind us was surprised that I was even there as we were getting off of the plane. All in all a fantastic weekend!

Boy oh boy is it hot here. Usually Occidental stays a bit cooler but this weekend we fled to the some air conditioned shops on Saturday and to the coast with everyone else on Sunday. We went out to dinner with a bunch of people from the lab to visit with Marie, a friend who was visiting from Ithaca. It was really nice to see Marie, but the heat made me a little cranky so mostly I had to walk around during dinner. Today, Mom went to work so I got to watch her count and measure crabs. This afternoon we went to the fireman's BBQ, which was lots of fun, they had great food and music. It's cooling off tonight so things will get a lot more comfortable.

Such a sunny weekend

Friday, we hung out with lots of BML folks at the wine bar. It was a really nice afternoon and a good chance to catch up with everyone. Saturday morning Dad and I baked a cake while Mom was at yoga. Afterwards we spent the afternoon at Matt, Cascade and Caden's. They have a great backyard that benefitted from shade. It was really pleasant to sit in the shade, munch on popsicles and to hang out with friends on a beautiful afternoon.
Sunday was Mom's birthday. To celebrate we went into SF and had some Dim Sum, and a fun afternoon walking around North Beach and China Town. We got a nice crowd out... Jenna, David, Randall, Matt, Cascade, Caden, Pamela, Kris, and Kyle. The weather was sunny but not too hot in the city, unlike back at home where it was baking hot. I played in my jumper while Mom and Dad got creative and did some potato prints for fun. We ended the evening with a bath and some birthday cake that was YUMMY!

Beach baby

Still Clean... or at least we try! Baths are more fun if you have a rubber ducky to play with!

This was a pretty relaxing weekend a nice way to welcome my 6 month milestone. Friday we enjoyed a nice evening out at the Ace in the Hole, saw a good band and lots of friends from the lab. It was so exciting that I took a nap! Actually it was lots of fun, I got to boogie with lots of friends, it wore me out. I hung out with Mom on Saturday while Dad went fishing (and brought us home some rockfish and made some great ceviche, or so Mom says).
Lynn and her pup Maddy came to play on Sunday. We really had a great time hanging out with them. The dogs kept me totally entertained while the grown-ups chatted. Then we all went to Doran Beach and had a great walk. It was much cooler on the coast but still sunny and really beautiful.

Happy Fourth of July!

What a lovely Independance Day weekend. We have been very busy so far. Grandma Terri came out for a visit and we kept her plenty busy! Saturday Dad went fishing and brought back some rockfish that were steamed for dinner. On Sunday, it was Kaylee's first birthday (Happy Birthday!). We went to G'Aunt Gigi and G'Uncle Dudley's house for a big party. Kaylee had a lot of family out to help celebrate.
Afterwards, we went to Randall and David's house to eat (more of) Dad's Salmon that he caught on Thursday and to watch the Bodega Bay Fireworks which were really great! It was a nice long show with cool displays. It was nice to be able to enjoy them inside, where I could nap after a while.

On Monday, Mom and Grandma Terri took me to get my six-month portrait taken. I was much more engaged and cheerful this time around, although Grandma still had to do jumping jacks behind the camera to get me looking in the right direction. Today I get to hang out with Dad and then have some real Barbeque this afternoon (or I"ll try it, I am still partial to the taste explosion of rice cereal and applesauce). Happy Fourth of July everyone!
