A NY state of mind

Well, the fellas took off for NY after Owen's last day of Kindergarten.  There was lots of relaxing, fishing, playing, singing and fun!  Mom and I met them three days into their trip (Mom had to finish giving exams), just in time for Father's Day.  We also ... relaxed, fished (my first major fishing excursion... 3 fish each day!!), played, snuggled, sang and had fun.

Since he headed out earlier, Owen had a few more days to explore Wolcott Falls
work on his bocce game
and had a few extra days of fishing in!

They also hit the strawberry festival, where Owen won so many games that he earned enough tickets to exchange for a much beloved bug net.
He also got to spend some time with Uncle Eddie
and watch him and Daddy work on their unicycling skills... It seems they have a lot of work to do.

 We had a blast.

We landed after a long flight and headed strait for lunch.  Do these guys know the way to my heart or what... first-stop... Hot dogs (not just any hot dogs, but Zweigles) and Abbots frozen custard.  mmm.  we arrived on Father's Day!  How lucky were we to be able to celebrate with two amazing Dads?  Happy Father's day Daddy!  You are a most wonderful Dad.
Thank you for taking wonderful care of us, getting us to school, cleaning us up at night, feeding us, playing with us, teaching us, taking us fishing... we are so very lucky to have you!

I was beat after her red-eye flight out.  I stayed up the whole next day out of sheer excitement, then crashed hard after bath.
Fishing!  Owen got to fish for a few days with Dad and Grandpa before I showed up... but I got to go out for two days!

I loved being on the water, in my PFD, with my hat and princess glasses (Thank you Grandma, I love them)

Some Bocce ball.  I wasn't too bad.
Dad had to take a good look to see who was closest.
I think I won.
YAY!
Grandma and Grandpa have a fantastic huge grassy yard that is perfect for running around, practicing somersaults

catching bugs, rolling around.  It was a lovely place to hang out.
Walkin' to the ice-cream shop with Grandpa Steves
NY had some pretty great frozen custard.  This wasn't abbotts (which we had my first day), but it was fantastic!
Catchin' a ball-game walking back from the ice-cream shop
Catchin' some snuggles with Grandma Steves on the Porch
She makes me smile!
Well, being a princess and all, I only take baths, so the big guys figured out how to get "my bowl" into the shower so I could still have my bath,
I thought it was so very cool.
Went on an adventure one day to the finger lakes.  stopped for some bird viewing.
Not so many birds, but a pretty awesome view.
Enjoying the lake.

which also had a great play-ground and another little girl named Grace that was the same age.

And a stop at a waterfall (with a long name we can't remember right now)
One last day of fishing to get in before heading home.
We did okay... caught a cooler full of fish.  In the end Owen probably caught 10 or so, and I caught six.  Not bad for a kid and a first-timer.

We're borrowing from Grandma Steve's facebook post... hope you don't mind that we snagged this Grandma, but thought it was sweet (and accurate)

"10 things I learned from my grandkids 1) You never get enough hugs and kisses 2) You miss them as soon as you leave the airport. 3) The best music is a song sung by your grandkids. 4) The words to Old MacDonald had a farm in "cow cow here, cow cow there, "underwear" cow cow. 5) There is mosqu

We had a ball. I miss them sooooooooo much —"

Love all the pictures! Looks like you had a blast! O is such a BIG GUY...looks like he is ready for First Grade. I can't believe how long and light G's hair is. She is looking like such a "little girl" as opposed to a "little baby".
