So, Dad and I had a pretty awesome Saturday.  We went for our first ever clamming trip out to Netarts, well first clamming trip ever period.

Why on earth have we not done this before?  1.  Beach, 2. Digging in sand, 3. Finding loads of cool critters, 4. Getting clams to squirt several feet in the air by jumping around (and only occasionally getting squirt in the mouth)  It is the perfect activity for me!

We came home with our limit in gapers, butters and even a bunch of Mussels!
To back-up a bit, Mom and Grace had a great bike-ride Friday all the way into Woodstock, which makes it perhaps Grace's (and bunny's) longest ever!
They celebrated with Icecream!  They picked me up at school, and dropped me off at a friend's house ... my first dinner playdate, and we had a great afternoon and pizza fun.  Grace softened the blow that I wouldn't be home to play with her with big apple smiles when they got home.
Since it was, after all where the proceeds went to my school, we all met up again at Cloud City after dinner.  that is TWO for Grace and Mom.
for a good cause, of course.   While Dad and I were out clamming, Mom and Grace had a pretty great day themselves.  They started with a trip to the market.
It was a beautiful day, everything is spring green, the bands were fun, the snacks (bread) were the best.
And they even had some time to run around the green space.
and pick all the dandelions we could find.
and jumping off crazy big walls!
So brave.  G even got her face-painted with a cool Octopus.
We all got home about the same time, and I got to show off the clam haul!
Elsa and Christina also came out to enjoy the sunshine and the lawn.  I think E was very impressed with the clams.
as well as how fingers work.
We LOVE playing with E, she is our favorite baby!  Today was also pretty busy, first we had a tea party hosted by Grace and pink-ball.
After church, we headed over to Lily Day Cafe, which was pretty great!  Totally recommend (very yummy fruit-bowl)
Then we went right over to Pearl and Liam's house for a great afternoon hunting millipedes,
 hanging around,
making volcanoes in the sandbox... all in all an awesome day.  We finished up this great weekend with an amazing mussel curry... those orange things there were the best mussels ever!
Thanks for the great dinner Dad!

The skies are grey and cloudy, though enough sunbreaks and warm enough that we are being pretty good about spending plenty of time outside.  Friday was the art show at Owen's school, we had a great time oohing and aahing at all of the great works posted all around school
Owen had a pretty flower painting on display and we both spent time doing some of the art activities that they had set up for us in the "cafetorium".  That's a cafeteria that also acts as an auditorium.
Here's Owen showing off his mini-marshmallow and toothpick sculpture that he made during the art show.
While we were at the art show we ran in to Liam and Pearl's family. It was really nice to see them and we made plans to meet up on Saturday to go bowling.
Owen took the lead in his bracket, though Jackie was close on his heels.
Dad did awesome, he was the only one to break 100!  Today we celebrated Esme's birthday... happy 3rd buddy!
She was lookin' glamorous and ready to take on the world!
We had loads of fun snacking, playing, making bead bracelets.
Some fun games involving maximizing the balloons in the air, or in your arms
kept us pleasantly, colorfully, celebrating!

It's one of the prettiest times of year around Portland.  Things are all in the pink!
We have celebrated this weekend with a lot of art projects and some nice walks and bike rides.
and enjoying all of the colors everywhere!

Princess Grace wishes everyone happy Spring and has been fighting sharks off when she turns into a mermaid!

In the middle of a lazy lunch on Friday, (Teacher's inservice day, so I got to hang at home!), where Mom pulled out the almonds, cheese, crackers and sardines (We called it a picnic lunch to make it sound fancy).  I informed Mom that "Whenever I am sad, just give me some sardines and watch my face light-up with a smile!"
Swings and bike-rides also work pretty well.

This weekend blew by quickly! Did you ever wonder what to do with leftover Easter egg dye?  We had ours in jars and Mom just capped them when we were done last week.  We poured a bunch of baking soda in a tray, pulled out a dropper and had a blast for a lot of the morning watching the foamy colorful fun.  Esme came by after a bit, and we headed over to Owen's school.
It was his run for the Arts day and he ran 13 laps!  The most in his class and about 3.25 miles in 30 minutes! He was awesome!
We were there for cheering and to play on the play structure.  We are so proud of him and how well he did. He was a bit nervous since it was a new route, but it turned out to not be a problem at all!
We enjoyed the rest of our play date, had a nice walk around Woodstock, played at home a bit, had a great time together
And that's when Mom stopped taking pictures for the weekend!  Really we had a nice time.  We went to dinner to celebrate Val getting a job at PCC!  Yay Val!  Mom will certainly miss her at PSU, but it is a great move, and she will be fantastic!

Saturday was spent getting the yard and garden together a bit.  It was a really mellow nice day at home.  A good time to run some errands, chill out in the yard, at least until the rain started back up.  Today, we had another playdate with J and E, and again, some more time playing, crafting, cooking things up at home, somehow it slipped on by, but it really does feel like Spring!
